Let Go and Let God!

Do you know how to lay it down?

One thing you must always remember: God is in control! In your life, you may experience situations where you feel helpless, broken, weak, or scared. Know that God is always with you. God has a plan for our lives that fit into His Big Plan. I like to think of it as a huge jigsaw puzzle. Typically, I like to sort the pieces out first, then put together all the edge pieces. I also like to use the picture on the box as a guide for sorting out the pieces.
God has the box to this puzzle and He is the only one who can see the big picture. Our job is to follow His lead and listen to the Holy Spirit. Our lives are a puzzle of their own, but I assure you, it fits into a bigger picture. Do not be afraid of the unknown, trust God and His calling for you.
God’s Plan
Our plans do not always fall into God’s plan. It is very important to pray for His guidance in all situations. Prayer is super powerful! It can be very difficult at times to pray, especially when it really means the difference between life and death-(I’ll share a story about my First Real Prayer in future blog.)

When life gets tough, we need to understand TRUST! The kind of trust a child has for a parent. If you have children, have they ever leaped off of something into your arms? Or do you remember a time when you were little, and you leaped into your parent or family member’s arm? Why did you do it? You knew they would catch you. God is our Father, Abba, who takes care of us, and is always there for us.

Prayer is not something which has to sound good. God knows everyone’s heart, and He knows what is inside our heart, even if WE don’t really know. Everything you feel, He feels. Everything you see, He sees.

God is omnipresent. He knows our inner most thoughts and desires. He desires us to know Him better.

Praying whole heartedly is a good start…tell Him what’s on your mind. According to God’s Word, He listens to your prayers and He responds. Be open to hear His response to your prayers.

Prayer and Praise

Do you know how to pray?

I don’t think there really is a right or wrong way to pray, as long as it is from your heart. I think it is most important to give thanks before asking God for anything.

There are so many things to be thankful for if you look closely. Isn’t it amazing how God gives us the gift of memory? How about the breath of life? God has given us the ability to run on “auto-pilot”. Do you have to remember to breathe?

Think about the things that seems so minute, yet they have such an impact on our lives everyday. It may be hard sometime to find something to thank God for, especially when we are going through turmoil.

If a loved one has suddenly passed, try thanking God for the time you had with them and the memories He has gifted to you.

Matthew 7:7-8New International Version
Ask, Seek, Knock
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
This scripture tells us if we ask we shall receive! Trust in the Lord your God, believe in Him, and He will make sure you get more than what you need. You just need to have faith!
Isaiah 26:3New International Version
“You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
    because they trust in you.”
